Years of Service: 1960-1999
Dr. Bill Foster served Mississippi State University with distinction in many different roles in his 39 year career. He served as the Director of Housing and was then asked to serve as the first Director of the Student Union when that building opened in 1966. Dr. Foster played a significant role in establishing the Student Affairs Master's Program at MSU and taught for many years. His leadership, creativity and enthusiasm were legendary as he served Student Affairs in many different capacities through the years. At the time of his retirement, he was Assistant Vice President, having served closely with Dr. Jones and Dr. Ruby in leading, growing and developing the Division of Student Affairs.
